In the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) club, more than 100 students from FCHS come together each week in the school’s auditorium. "Last year we started off with about 10 kids and slowly we grew, so it’s really special knowing there’s so many people that need Christ," said coach and FCA teacher sponsor Devin Watkins.

FCA student leaders and teachers often work behind the scenes to ensure leaders can feel blessed rather than always being the ones to teach. “We make it a point for leaders to also take time to sit and learn, whether it’s through a guest speaker or rotating speaking roles,” said FCA student leader River McMillian '26. The club focuses on there being a time to teach and a time to learn, so FCA leaders know they can’t help others if they don’t first fill up their own “cup” with new knowledge.

As the FCA session comes to a close, students gather in small groups to talk, pray, and enjoy fellowship. It's a time for students to connect on a deeper level and reflect on the messages they've received. "I really enjoy attending FCA, and it is so great that everyone around me is growing with God," said Zia Stull '29.

Seven FCHS student leaders work together to plan messages that speak to and uplift their peers. In this photo, Jackson Fields '25 delivers the message to the students, but he’s not just talking at them. He actively gets them involved with questions and encouragement. "After making a plan, I look for things people can relate to and use examples to connect it to their own lives," said Fields.

During FCA, students are engaged as leaders share the message. "I think it’s a great way for fellowship and community," said James Feury '28, adding "I enjoy it when we have guest speakers." Members say they appreciate the atmosphere of excitement and gratitude, noting that they feel supported and encouraged in their faith.
