Any FCHS student who has been in the Guidance office will recognize May’s Staff Member of the Month, Diane Fornarotto. Fornarotto has worked in the Guidance office for 17 years. Her job consists of handling files for current and former students, processing report cards and progress reports, acting as the secretary to all counselors, assisting teachers, and managing the Guidance office.

Fornarotto came to FCHS after working seven years in the Guidance office at Cumberland High School.“I knew when I walked into FCHS, it was the right fit for me,” said Fornarotto of the switch. She said her favorite part of working at FCHS has been the people she’s worked with and the students she has met.

Blessed with seven grandchildren, Fornarotto is very proud of them all. One grandson, Kenny, recently graduated from the University of Florida, and another, Jeremy, is a freshman at Virginia Tech where he part of the Pre-Vet program. Her granddaughter, Jessica, will be graduate from the University of Pittsburgh this December.

Fornarotto is retiring after the current school year, and has already planned out her summer vacation. “I plan on traveling to Las Vegas and Florida. I also plan on spending time with my grandchildren and working on my yard,” she said.
