On March 27, Fluco Rachel Sherman received the second annual $10,000 scholarship from SHINE Systems. Rachel, step-daughter of SHINE employee Niki Sherman, will receive these funds to attend Longwood University next fall, where she will pursue an English major and a Creative Writing minor degree.

SHINE Systems is an SBA-certified HUBZone small business headquartered out of Charlottesville. This annual scholarship is open to the dependent children of SHINE System employees. Applicants must be a high school senior who is enrolling at, or an undergraduate currently enrolled or transferring into, an accredited four-year university with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

“We are delighted to award Miss Sherman this scholarship,” said Jeff Thomas, SHINE Systems CEO and founder. “We strive to foster other-centered relationships and strong stewardship, and this scholarship gives us the opportunity to create a positive work environment while giving back to our community.”
