Rhythm in Blue Comes to the Flu

On Nov. 6, the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band, also known as Rhythm in Blue, will perform at Fluvanna County High School. Open to the general public, the concert will start at 2:30 and last for about an hour in the main auditorium. The USAF Jazz Band is coming to the area to “help promote music in the county, to provide school outreach for the USAF, and to celebrate Veterans Day in our schools,” said FCHS Band teacher Michael Strickler.

Although the FCHS band will not be performing with Rhythm in Blue, the USAF Jazz Band will be giving the Fluvanna jazz students a clinic before the concert.

Throughout Rhythm in Blue performances, all 13 members work together to tell the story of the Air Force. On and off stage, they take pride in representing the people in the USAF.  They are constantly on the move, performing in states from Maine to South Carolina, but they never lose their spirit or their passion.

The concert will include everything from instrumental highlights to vocal soloists, as band members hope to make “lasting connections with audiences of all ages” as well as “inspire patriotism” in their spectators.
