The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) recently released the graduation rates for students in Virginia. According to VDOE, Fluvanna County High School had an overall graduation rate of 92.5% for 2015, which surpasses the school’s graduation rate of 91.2% for 2014. What is important about this, however, is that Fluvanna’s graduation rate is actually higher than the state average of 90.5%, meaning that more people graduate on time in Fluvanna than in most other counties in the state.

Some of Fluvanna’s other graduation stats are particularly interesting. For example, 51.6% of FCHS students graduate with an Advanced Diploma, which requires additional credits as opposed to the standard diploma. This also surpasses the state average of 51.1%. Additionally, FCHS’ dropout rate is significantly lower than the state average, with 3.3% of Fluvanna students dropping out, versus a 5.2% dropout rate for the state overall.

The high graduation rate for Fluvanna High School is often cited as evidence that the educational curriculum at Fluvanna High has been improving steadily. If the trend increases, the school’s graduation rate will continue to improve as the years go on.
