The first FCHS blood drive of the season was held on Sept. 18. There were 40 donors in total. “I will be hosting another blood drive on March 18, 2026,” said Health and Medical Sciences teacher Karen Green.

Students who helped with the blood drive hang around a snack table. After giving blook, donors get a snack and a drink to replenish lost blood volume and stabilize blood sugar.

The local American Red Cross, which helped conduct the event, collected 29 pints of blood across all donors. “I donated because doing it is an easy way for me to help others,” said junior Hagan Porter (pictured).

Sophomores Ava Bass and Jesica Ceron helped with the drive. “I genuinely wanted to help. I helped last year to speed up the process and help people if they passed out,” said Ceron.
