Football– October 14-18

It was a long time coming, but oh, so welcome. When the varsity football boys set foot on the Louisa field on Oct. 18 they were hoping that elusive first win of the season was finally in their grasp…and it was.  The team played a strong game and took out Louisa with a score 23-6, bringing the Flucos’ overall record to 1-6.

“It was a great experience to beat Louisa two years in a row. It felt even more glorious to beat the team since they were poor sports,” said Lane Kadlec.

The JV Flucos didn’t have such a positive evening, losing 14-0 against Louisa and leaving the boys

wanting to try harder for their next game.  “The team was angry because it was our first loss…on our home turf,” said Quint Crouch. The loss brought the team to an overall record of 2-2. They’ll step on the field again on Oct. 23 playing away at Powhatan. Varsity will take on Powhatan two nights later on Oct. 25.
