Football– October 25-29

On Oct. 29, the junior varsity team squared off against Charlottesville. The Flucos were able to come away with a close win, with a final score of 22-19. The game was neck-and-neck throughout, but the Flucos managed to squeak by in the end. The JV teams’ last game of the season is a home game against Western Albemarle on Nov. 4.

Following the varsity team’s loss to Powhatan on Oct. 25, they looked to rebound against Charlottesville on Homecoming night. Hyped up by a long Spirit Week and a Homecoming pep rally and parade prior to the game, the Flucos initially came out strong, getting a touchdown in the first half. However, things fell apart for the Flucos after that and proceeded rapidly downhill, ending with a Fluco loss of 47-18. “We just missed a lot of opportunities and that hurt us in the long run,” said junior Markyll Bland. Their final game of the 2013 season is at Western Albemarle on Nov. 8.
