On Nov. 19, the Virginia Department of Aviation brought an airplane to the parking lot at FCHS for Terry Schnitter’s Engineering classes. Students had the chance to see the airplane up close and learn about its design and features.
“I went with my class to see the airplane, and it was an awesome experience. I found it interesting and learned a lot about how airplanes work and how aviation functions,” said junior Zach Carter.
Teacher Sara Harkrader also had the opportunity to sit in the pilot’s seat, giving students another view of the aircraft. The event helped students connect what they’ve been learning in class to real-world engineering and aviation.
