Fluvanna County High School Choir students had a successful outcome at the All District Choir auditions, with 11 high school students and five middle school students earning placements in the choir. These students will represent the district at the All District Choir event in February.
“Our Fluco choir students had an amazing showing at All District choir auditions. We had 11 high schoolers and 5 middle schoolers make the choir. This will be a record number of 16 Flucos representing Fluvanna County this February,” said FCHS Choir Director Sara Harkrader.
Among the participants is soprano and junior Emmalyn Milleson, who earned a perfect score in sight-reading.
“While I’m super happy about having received a perfect score, it did come as a surprise to me. I was naturally a bit nervous during the audition, and I felt at the time that I had messed up certain parts,” said Milleson, who has been in choir since eighth grade. She expressed her appreciation for the support and instruction she has received from Harkrader.
