On April 22, 2026 some of the teachers and students played in the annual Teacher-Student Basketball game, which ended with the teachers winning.
Although the game was 51-32 the students held their ground against the teachers. The games were set up so the first quarter the eighth and ninth graders played, then sophomores played the second quarter, then juniors played third quarter, and seniors played the fourth and last quarter.
The Fluco SGA members set this event up and sent out an email to sign up for the students team on March 30, the SGA pick and choose who will be playing for the student teams.
“I’m really looking forward to competing alongside fellow faculty members and engaging with the many students I’ve had the privilege to teach and coach. It’s a great opportunity to build community, celebrate school spirit, and enjoy the game together,” Said Earth Science teacher Wiley House
“The staff vs. student basketball game was a game students will remember for decades. The staff came prepared to play, knocked down 3 point shot after 3 point shot, dominated in the paint, and held a commanding lead throughout the game. In all seriousness, the game and energy in the gym was awesome, Samuel Loving’s dunk was the highlight of the game, and I can’t wait for the next time we get to play!” said Danny Reed
