One of Fluvanna County’s seniors has been named a finalist in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program. Out of more than 1.3 million entrants nationwide, senior Christopher Beirne is now among approximately 15,000 finalists competing for 6,870 merit scholarships to be awarded this spring. In recognition of this achievement, he has received the Certificate of Merit from the National Merit Scholarship Program.
“We are proud to celebrate Christopher Beirne for earning Finalist status in the National Merit Scholarship Program. This prestigious recognition highlights his dedication, hard work, and academic excellence. As the proud principal of FCHS, I congratulate Christopher for this outstanding achievement and for representing Fluco PRIDE at the highest level,” said Principal Margo Bruce.
FCHS Testing Coordinator Angie Blevins said, “We are very proud of Christopher’s accomplishments here at Fluvanna County High School. He has worked hard for this well‑deserved award as a National Merit Scholar. I am sure that he will go far with his endeavors after high school.”
The National Merit Scholarship Program has begun its selection process for scholarship awards, with winners scheduled to be announced later this spring.
