More than 100 students gathered in the FCHS cafeteria for the winter formal on Feb. 28. Students had a chance to take a break from homework and tests for a night to spend some time with friends dancing and laughing.
Students arrived dressed up for the PTSO-sponsored occasion, wearing dresses, suits, and other semi-formal outfits. The cafeteria looked very different than how it normally does during lunch, with bright lights, decorations, and a dance floor. Photo areas were also set up, giving people a spot to take pictures and make memories.
As the night started, students filled the room, arriving in groups of friends or with dates. Once the music, played by DJ Runway, began, the dance floor became the center of attention.
In addition to dancing, many students stopped by the photo areas to capture moments with their friends.
“It’s great knowing I can always remember the night by looking back at the pictures I took with my friends, ” said sophomore Caroline Dahl.
For many students, the dance was a chance to step away from the stress of the normal school environment and enjoy a laid-back evening dress up with their friends.
“The dance had a nice assortment of drinks and snacks. It was a lovely spread,” said senior Margeaux Cantigallo.
