At their Dec. 10 meeting, the School Board approved an adjustment to the current FCPS calendar due to instructional time lost as a result of four snow days: Dec. 5, 8, 9, and 10. Dec. 18 will now be a full day for students, a change from the previously scheduled half day.
The half day was changed to a full day to allow for first block teachers and students to prepare for final exams, which have been pushed back to begin on Dec. 12.
Dec. 19 will continue to be a staff day only, and there will be no school for students that day. This day will lead into winter break, which runs Dec. 22 through Jan. 5.
