The class of 2026 is preparing for an experience as this year’s senior trip takes them to Washington D.C. on April 23rd. This full day adventure will allow students to explore their nation’s capital, enjoy time with their classmates, and celebrate their final year together before graduation.
The day will begin bright and early around 7:00am, as students depart from school by charter bus. Along the way, they will stop for a quick bite to eat before arriving at their first destination of the day, a lunch cruise down the Potomac River. This cruise will consist of a lunch buffet, a DJ, and views of Washington’s waterfront. After the cruise, the students will travel to the National Zoo. They will have time to explore the zoo and see hundreds of different species and exhibits, while spending time with their classmates in an outdoor setting. The final destination will be Nationals Park, where they will attend a Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves baseball game. After the game, students will head back to the High School, arriving at around 1:00 a.m.
“This is the first time we have been to DC, so I am excited to see how the seniors enjoy the zoo and the baseball game. When you have a large group, the baseball players always notice you during the game and we normally walk out with a few baseballs that are thrown to the student. It is going to be a fun trip, and I am looking forward to it,” said coach Jason Barnett.
Coach Mitchell Pace also encouraged students to continue their high participation in senior activities by saying, “We had a great time at Drive Shack, with the biggest group we’ve ever taken. Keep the senior energy and participation rolling as we plan for the big, all day senior trip.”
The overall cost of this trip is $160 per student, with a $75 deposit due by Nov. 25 to secure your spot. Space is limited and only the first 50 students to sign up are guaranteed a place on the trip. Once the first 50 slots are filled, another 50 students must sign up before additional space is confirmed. If the minimum number of participants is not met, students who are unable to participate will receive a full refund.
