SGA Adviser David Small recently announced that this year’s FCHS Homecoming dance will be held Oct. 25 in the cafeteria. As tradition follows, two students will be nominated from each class for Homecoming Court, and for seniors, a king and a queen will be crowned.
Small said that there will be no formal campaigning for the ballot. If you want to be nominated (or to nominate a friend) for your class court representative, you may share this by word of mouth or social media. However, FCHS will not show campaign videos over school announcements, nor will it permit posters to be hung for campaigning.
An email containing a Google form will be sent out to students on Oct. 9, allowing them to nominate two individuals to represent their class at the Homecoming half-time show. The top two nominees from grades 8-11 will be chosen, as well as the top 8 for seniors. All nominees will be screened by FCHS administration to ensure that they are in good academic standing.
The Homecoming court will be announced on Oct. 14, and voting for the king and queen will begin via Google form on Oct. 21. The two winning seniors will be crowned king and queen at the halftime ceremony of the Homecoming game on Oct. 24.
Look for more information on the dance, including ticket information, to be announced on “In the Know” in the next few weeks.
