Walking through the hallways, you have probably seen countless posters from people who are running for class office. Class officers work together to accomplish either general or specific projects, depending on the grade. For example, the senior class council is responsible for working on senior year events like Senior Sunrise and Sunset, Senior Skip Day, and senior trips, such as the annual one in May.

The junior class council has perhaps the biggest task among the grades, as they plan Prom in their junior year. This means they handle the whole process, from fundraising for two years to creating and implementing the theme.

“Planning Prom was very tedious, but fun. It took a lot of effort and attention to the little details while decorating. Everyone seemed to love the vibe and how the dance went as a whole. I had a lot of fun planning it and would do it 10 times over,” said this year’s Junior Class President, Natalie Gomez.

The voting process opens on May 8 and will be done via grade-specific Google Forms sent out via email to all students on that date.

Students can get to know the people running for class office by viewing campaign videos that will be emailed to students two days before elections. Each candidate was invited to make a video explaining why students should vote for them. These will be emailed to students on May 6.
