As the hot summer days are coming to an end, and we start to feel that cool breeze in the mornings, we know autumn is on its way, and with the season comes fun fall activities, beautiful weather, and seasonal flavors. The fall season has shorter days, but it is preferred by students for several reasons, such as:
FNL
Students have enjoyed Friday night football games for years because they provide a fun opportunity to spend time with friends, dress up, and show off school spirit. Each game features a different theme that students can vote on, encouraging creativity in designing and selecting their clothes.
Seasonal Flavors
Pumpkin spice lattes may be the most popular thing to get in the fall season, but are they overrated? While some students believe so, most say it’s accurately rated. Alongside apple, cinnamon, and caramel flavors, which are also fall favorites, these seasonal flavors can be found at your favorite coffee shop, local pumpkin or apple patch (like Fruit Hill Orchard), or grocery stores.
Outdoor Activities
Autumn is a great time to reconnect with nature and spend time with loved ones. Activities like hiking, camping, bonfires, and corn mazes are especially fun with the cool, fall weather.
Clothing
During this season, sales on sweaters, fuzzy socks, and fall boots tend to increase as people are no longer concerned about the hot sun. The color palette students tend to wear also matches the warm-toned leaves you find falling from the trees.
Movies
If you’re a movie lover, this fall will be the perfect time for you to visit the movie theater. Joker, starring Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix, comes out this season, as well as a roster of exciting horror movies like Smile 2, Listen Carefully, and Terrifier 3. Drive-ins are also very popular during the fall season due to the cooler weather and the sun setting earlier.
Thanksgiving Break
This break differs among schools, with some having three days off and others having a full week. Either way, it’s a time students enjoy spending with family, eating delicious food, and having a moment to relax away from the stress of school.
Halloween
Teenagers love to dress up for Halloween and other seasonal events, showing off their creativity and having a great time in the process. Whether you celebrate it or not, you’ll likely end up bringing a bag of candy home, and who doesn’t love candy?
Be sure to make the most of this upcoming season and take advantage of all the things that are only available this time of the year.
