Inspired by Salvador Dali’s painting “The Persistence of Memory.”
The clock is lost; the hour unknown.
A silent room, I’m left alone,
Waiting for the sun to rise.
No ticking sound, no hand to watch,
I stand in darkness, with no direction.
Each second stretches into eternity,
While the world moves on, I remain still.
I sit, lost in thought,
My mind gripped by its own weight.
Without time, my thoughts begin to break,
And moments blur as my life shakes.
Each breath carries a question:
How long will this last? My mind screams.
I search for an answer, but it slips away, unheard.
Still, I wait, listening for something.
Hours slip by like shadows in the night.
Time’s relentless grip feels like a cage,
And the silence tries to kill me—and it succeeds.
An unknown call, sharp and loud.
Without time, madness slowly takes hold.
