Tom was sitting in his seventh-grade math class like any other day. All of a sudden, he felt a tap on his shoulder. When he turned around, he saw Josh, his bully. “What do you want, Josh?” said Tom.
“Give me your lunch money, you fat loser,” said Josh.
“I’m literally skinnier than you…” said Tom with a confused look on his face.
“That’s besides the point. Lunch money or black eye, you choose,” said Josh. Tom knew he stood no chance against Josh. Even though Josh was as dumb as a board, he was twice the size of Tom. This wasn’t the first time something like this had happened. Tom was used to giving Josh his lunch money every day.
“Fine, here,” said Tom as he handed Josh a ten-dollar bill.
“Thanks, nerd,” said Josh as he walked away. At the end of the day, Tom went home hungry and angry. He was tired of being pushed around all day by Josh. Tom was so upset that he pulled out some paper from his drawer and started folding.
“Perfect!” said Tom. He had made an origami figure of Josh and colored it in to fit his features.
RIP!
“Not as good as actually beating him up, but at least it was fun to do,” said Tom as he ripped the origami figure of Josh in half. The next day, when Tom went to school, he felt something was off. “No tap on the shoulder today,” Tom thought to himself. Before he could think of anything else, Tom’s teacher interrupted him.
“Excuse me, class, I have an announcement to make,” said Mrs. T.
“This is weird, she never has announcements for us,” Tom thought.
“Unfortunately, your classmate Josh was hit by a truck after school yesterday, head-on, and has passed away,” said Mrs. T as a tear dripped down her face. “If anyone needs to talk to me, I am here for all of you. Josh was a lovely student,” said Mrs. T.
“Sad, but at least Josh won’t bother me anymore,” Tom thought. Tom went home and saw the ripped origami figure of Josh on the ground. “What a coincidence,” Tom thought. Just for the sake of curiosity, Tom started folding again. He folded an origami figure of himself this time, and drew on his blonde hair and blue eyes. Just in case this was real, Tom didn’t want to hurt himself too badly. He grabbed a pair of scissors and cut a small piece from the paper off the figure’s arm. After a few seconds of waiting, nothing happened to Tom at all.
“Crazy coincidence, just as I thought,” said Tom. It was late, and Tom was getting hungry, so he decided to walk downstairs to get some dinner. “What’s for dinner, Mom?” yelled Tom as he walked down the stairs.
“Spaghetti!” yelled Tom’s mom back. Tom sat at the tables ready to eat after a long day of school. Noticing his mom had made rolls as well, he grabbed a knife to butter one.
“OW!” screamed Tom. The knife had fallen directly out of his hand, slitting open his arm.
“OH MY GOD!” screamed Tom’s mom. Tom fainted from all of the blood.
A few hours later…
“Where am I?” said Tom, looking around the room he was lying in. Seconds later, after looking at his arm, Tom remembered.
“You’re in the hospital, sweetie,” said Tom’s mom.
“So it is real,” Tom thought to himself.
“Also, sweetie, this was in your pocket when the doctors brought you in,” said Tom’s mom. She pulled out the origami figure of Tom and gave it to him.
“Thanks,” said Tom as he grabbed the figure from her hands. But as he grabbed its legs, his mom still had a grip on its head.
RIP!
“Oh no–” said Tom. Before he could say or do anything more, the fan above him fell straight out of the ceiling.
CRASH!
“OH, MY GOD! MY BABY!” screamed Tom’s mom, but it was too late. There was nothing that could be done; Tom was dead. Later that night, after Tom had been taken away by the paramedics, his mom sat in the hospital with a smirk on her face.
“Now I can spend his college fund at the casino,” she thought to herself. She went on to lose it all.
