Everyday I wake up tired
teXting my mother to stay home from school.
She tells me to Put on a smile and have a good day,
but that’s hard whEn I have mounds of work to do.
I still put on that smile, and Climb out of bed.
I get to school and am Tormented by the announcements.
“Have A good day of learning,” the over-enthusiastic teacher says.
I Think about what the other kids feel like,
but I know I won’t have a good day learning.
My hand is cramping Over the multiple pages of notes,
but at least I have a smile oN my face.
