What defines a person? One might say a hobby or a personality trait, but no word defines FCHS Junior Dahris Tinsley better than “football.”

Tinsley, who has gone to to Fluvanna schools his entire life, started playing football his freshman year of high school and has thrived in the sport ever since, making the JV football team his freshman year and getting  moved up to varsity his sophomore year. He mostly plays defensive tackle, guard, and running back.

“My favorite part about playing football is the aggressiveness and the intensity of the game,” he said. When asked what keeps him motivated, he replied, “To reach our goals as a team and to come out on top with a good season.”

In the future, Tinsley plans to attend college and study electrical engineering. Although in less than two years he’ll be moving in a different direction with his life, football will always have a place in his heart and Fluvanna will always be his home.
