Tiny But Mighty
Laci Norcross is a junior at Fluvanna County High School and while she may be tiny, she’s surprisingly fierce on the lacrosse field, where she is known as “#10.” She has been playing lacrosse for four years on the FCHS girls’ team as an attacker.
Norcross has had many memorable moments on the team, but says her favorite is “playing at Virginia Tech in a lacrosse showcase” where she scored two goals. She added that her biggest accomplishment on the team was scoring her first goal ever at an away game against Patrick Henry High School in her freshman year.
Where does she get her inspiration? Norcross said she looks up to her older brother, Luke Norcross, who played on the FCHS boys’ lacrosse team up until transferring to a private school in 2015. Luke has carried his lacrosse stick with him to Davis and Elkins College and inspired his younger sister to do likewise.
“This year in lacrosse I hope to become a stronger lacrosse player and build up more skill,” said Norcross, providing that size is just a state of mind.
