Volleyball– October 14-18
Continuing a stellar season, the Varsity volleyball team pushed forward with wins against Orange on Oct. 15 and against Monticello on Oct. 17. The girls blew both teams away, winning each round and finishing the games with a score of 3-0.
“I was happy that we won and proud of my team for the way we played,” said senior Emily Haden. “We all played together like a team like we knew we could. We played hard and it really showed,” said junior Kylee Dixon.
This year has been a great year for the team with a current record of six wins and one loss. Slowly rising to the top, the team boasts a ranking of 14th in the state. This week they took on Louisa on Oct. 22 and will once again face Powhatan on Oct. 24.
Facing a more challenging season than their varsity counterparts, the JV team lost against both Louisa and Monticello last week. Still, they are focusing on the positive.
“We played with the most heart we’ve ever played in that game and we played as a team really well,” said sophomore Brittany Koczan when asked about their game against Monticello.
The JV team will get another shot against Powhatan at home on Oct. 24.
