Each year, thousands of Americans look forward to the National Football League’s (NFL) championship, also known as the Super Bowl. Fourteen teams make it to the playoffs each season, but only two of those teams will compete in the Super Bowl on Feb. 9 which is expected to have nearly 117 million viewers.
The NFL is split up into two conferences: the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). To determine which team would qualify for the rest of the playoffs, the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs faced off. Coming out victorious, the Chiefs then went up against the Houston Texans, with the Chiefs winning by 23-14.
The second round of playoffs ended with the Buffalo Bills (AFC) closely beating the Baltimore Ravens 27-25, and the Los Angeles Rams falling to the Philadelphia Eagles (NFC) by a score of 28-22. Tensions among fans were high, as the outcomes of these games would determine which teams moved on to the final four. The winning teams turned out to be the Bills, Eagles, Commanders, and Chiefs. The question now is, are the Chiefs going to make this their third Super Bowl win in a row?
