On March 8, three Fluvanna high schoolers participated in the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) competition in Richmond, which allows various students from around the state to compete in various subjects and fields, including Accounting, Client Service, and Public Speaking. Tests are given for each subject, allowing students to study and apply their knowledge against the scores of other students. “I was shocked at first,” 2nd Place Accounting winner Brie Porter said, “because I didn’t feel I did that well. After the shock passed, though, I was super excited and proud of myself since I was so hesitant in competing in the first place.

The winners were Brie Porter, who placed 2nd in Accounting, Danielle Crawford, who placed 2nd in Client Service, and Amy Sigmann, who placed 3rd in Public Speaking.
