I sit on the porch and watch the storm pass
The rain pours down while I am protected
Thunder crashes, the loud booming quite crass
A blanket and a cup of tea perfected
Leaves fall and branches tumble down by me
Just yesterday the sun shone through the sky
I grab a book and sweet serenity
Looking out from the porch, the clouds are high
October weather is so stormy and brisk
But when the rich Autumn leaves drop downwards
The beautiful season has little risk
Shortly the storm will be heading town-wards
And I will go inside to a bright fire
Crackling and dancing its very own pyre
