Student Receives SHINE Scholarship

On March 27, Fluco Rachel Sherman received the second annual $10,000 scholarship from SHINE Systems. Rachel, step-daughter of SHINE employee Niki Sherman, will receive these funds to attend Longwood University next fall, where she will pursue an English major and a Creative Writing minor degree.

SHINE Systems is an SBA-certified HUBZone small business headquartered out of Charlottesville. It is at the forefront of innovation in the core competencies of Decision Analytics including military, identity, and business intelligence, technology integration, and mission support services. “We develop value-driven solutions for our clients across the Federal marketplace using our industry knowledge, service, and product expertise, and groundbreaking technical capabilities,” said Derek Carbonneau, a member of SHINE management.

This annual scholarship is open to the dependent children of SHINE System employees. Applicants must be a high school senior who is enrolling at, or an undergraduate currently enrolled or transferring into, an accredited four-year university with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
