Back to Prom
May 16, 2022
With the excitement of the 2022 Prom now in the past, some are thinking about whether this year’s prom met their high expectations. The loss of a Junior prom for the class of 2022 left the Class of ‘22 hoping for a prom that would be worthy enough to make up for the one missed. So plans were made for a dance with the theme of “Red Carpet” to be held on April 30.
Junior Matthew Crothers made it his goal to provide a prom that would do just that. As President of the Prom Committee and the Junior class, Crothers, along with other members of the committee, spent half of the school year coming up with ideas to make this year’s prom successful for all who attended. In reflection, Crothers said “I feel that prom went very well. Everything we had planned we were able to acquire and provide such a fun and unforgettable night for our student body.”
Attendance at the event was strong, with almost 300 $20 tickets being sold to juniors and seniors.
As usual, some felt that the music played at Prom could have been better. “I think Prom was really fun and anyone who says otherwise just did not bring the fun. The music was not that great, but that doesn’t mean the student body didn’t get down on the dance floor. I am very satisfied with my prom experience,” said Junior Ella Kearney.
