Winter Break Extended

December 15, 2021

On Dec. 8, the Fluvanna County School Board voted unanimously to extend the winter break. Dec. 20-22 will now be part of the winter break. Staff will return for teacher workdays on Jan. 3-4, and students will start their second-semester classes on Jan. 5. Students who were unable to take SOLs and final exams before the end of the first semester will make them up when the new semester begins.

In an announcement on Facebook, Superintendent Pete Gretz said, “Please join me in expressing appreciation to the board for recognizing the incredible commitment of all staff members and honoring the hard work of our students and families. At this time I am not recommending any adjustments to the calendar to make up these days, though we will continue to monitor the future time that may be missed due to inclement weather and will address needs as they arise.”
