As of Nov. 2, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommend that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer vaccine. As a result, Fluvanna County Public Schools have created a tentative plan with the Virginia Department of Health to hold two vaccination events specifically for Fluvanna students aged 5-11.
A total of 50 doses will be administered on Monday, Nov. 15, at the Fluvanna Public Library from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. On Thursday, Nov. 19, 100 doses will be administered at Carysbrook Elementary School from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
