FCHS Publications Receive VHSL “Superior” and “Excellent” Awards

November 4, 2021

FCHS received a “Superior” rating (the highest rating possible) from VHSL for their 2021 Literary Magazine and an “Excellent” rating for the 2021 Fluvannual Yearbook.

“I am especially proud of our 2021 Journalism team for receiving these ratings in a year that was partially virtual. The Yearbook students had to rely on crowd-sourcing for almost all of the photos, interviews, and reporting that went into creating the book, while the Literary Magazine Club created nearly all of the magazine through Google meetings,” said Journalism Advisor Elizabeth Pellicane.

The following students worked on these publications:

2021 Yearbook Editors: Emma Gresham (2021 graduate) & Mia Martinez

2021 Social Media Manager: Evie Benson

2021 Yearbook staff: Ally Lounsbury, Gabrielle Etchison, Asiana Hawkins, Claire Barnett, Matt Gresham, Emma Poulin, Maya Knisley, Madison Fain, Alayna Wyche, Bobby Smith, Kaitlyn Costanzo, Sophia Harris, Caylor Manning, Courtlyn Evans (2021 graduate), Aubreanna Gray (2021 graduate), Willow Harrison, Grace Farist, Christina Valladares, Jayden Baroch, Sophia Denby, Sommerville Munt (2021 graduate), Blaise Silverman, Grace Farist, Abby Seal, Paola Gomez-Melgares, Shayleigh Sims, Kiersten Ownby, Aydon Duenas (2021 graduate) , Natalie Haislip, Madeline Haislip, Shelby Crawford, Reagan Kesterson, Abby Kimble, Savannah Conley
