Making Money with the Census
September 13, 2019
If you are looking for a quick way to make some money while still in school, the US Census Bureau is looking for US citizens to help them out with the 2020 census.
The census happens every ten years and the bureau is responsible for collecting data about the American people. This includes population count, as well as general information about the US population.
The jobs being offered are temporary and will last only a few weeks. The largest openings available are for census takers. One of the main tasks of a census taker is to visit the homes of individuals and complete a questionnaire with the resident.
In order to be eligible to apply for a job with the bureau, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a US citizen age 18 or older (or turning 18 within the next six months)
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends
- Have access to a vehicle and have a valid driver’s license
- Have access to a computer in order to complete training
Benefits include a weekly paycheck every week, paid training, and flexible hours. For more information, go to www.2020census.gov/jobs to find information on pay rates, as well as an application to apply.
