Interact Club’s HumAnimal Drive

Don't Forget to Leave a Like

The FCHS Interact Club recently announced what they are calling a “HumAnimal Drive” to provide necessary items for both humans and animals. The drive will run through March 29 during all 3rd block classes. The donated items will be given to Fluvanna Meals on Wheels and the Fluvanna SPCA.

The items requested for Fluvanna Meals on Wheels are:

  • Low sodium soups or stews
  • Canned tuna, chicken or salmon
  • Beans
  • Peanut Butter (low salt)
  • Jars or canned unsalted nuts
  • Canned fruits (oranges, pears, peaches, mixed assortments, etc.)
  • Dried fruits (cherries, apricots, raisins, etc.)
  • Applesauce
  • Saltine or Ritz crackers
  • Graham crackers, granola bars, cereal bars
  • Packs (6 or 12) of 100% fruit juice (single servings)
  • Vegetables (green beans, peas, carrots, corn, etc.,  Specifically no salt added vegetables)

Additionally, the following clothing items are being requested:

  • Jeans
  • Pants or Slacks
  • Shorts
  • Shirts, Blouses or Tops
  • Skirts
  • Dresses

The items requested for the Fluvanna SPCA include:

  • Wet cat and dog food (Purina)
  • Dry cat and dog food (Purina)
  • Cat and dog treats
  • Toys
  • Blankets
  • Large towels
  • Cat litter
  • 6-Foot leashes
  • Cat and dog beds
  • Pooper Scoopers
  • Waste pick-up bags
  • Flea combs
  • 13 and 55 gallon trash bags
  • Cleaning supplies (bleach, dish soap, Clorox, sanitizing spray, etc.)

The 3rd block class that donates the most items will be given a week’s worth of homemade sweet treats for the week of April 16 from the Interact Club. In addition, the 3rd block class with the most donations will have a pizza party on April 20.
