Sour Patch Kid
April 18, 2023
Why is it that your words tasted so sweet?
Pulling me in with sugary promises
Dipped in chocolate and delivered with a kiss
Drunk on them like a whiskey neat
Accepting your praises
But in the end you left me helpless
Alone on high street
Your lies tight around me like bodices
Stealing away my bliss
Your words were coated in sugar
Only hiding the sourness you harbor
You were a sour patch kid
A kid of which I need to be rid
