Poison
December 3, 2021
Little white lies darkened with time.
Rose-colored glasses stained my eyes.
Silence louder than I can speak.
Romance and horror often meet.
Poison so bittersweet,
inevitably fatal.
Lethal sins instead of love.
Nightmare that I dream of.
Ocean blue eyes that often met mine.
Silk-like kisses wrinkled with time.
Satisfy my craving and don’t leave me bare.
Brush my strands with a gentle stare
Cared for thorns before petals.
Sweet words dwindle to salt when you speak.
Take me for what I am, not whom you seek.
