Summer Residential Governor’s School Invites Applications

All 10th or 11th graders looking to apply for the Summer Residential Governor’s School may now do so, according to th Fluvanna County School Board Office. Students who apply must be gifted or an advanced student in either Foreign Language, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Humanities, Math, Science, Technology, Agriculture, Medicine, Space or Marine science.
Each Summer Residential Governor’s School focuses on one special area of interest. Students chosen will be involved in classroom and laboratory work, field studies, research, individual and group projects and performances, and seminars with noted scholars, visiting artists, and other professionals. Students are selected to work side-by-side with research scientists, physicians, and a variety of other professionals. The students will be supervised by a director and student-life staff 24 hours a day throughout the program.
The deadlines for applications are as follows:
Visual and Performing Arts- November 15
Foreign Language Academies- December 13
Academic- February 7
