Buy Now, Party Later

April 11, 2019

Students who buy a 2019 yearbook on or before April 18 will get an added bonus in addition to saving money: They’ll be invited to attend the April 23 Yearbook Signing Party in the Cafeteria from 3:15 – 3:45. Attendees will be allowed to get out of class early, visit with their friends, share signatures and sentiments on free signing pages, and eat free donuts and refreshments.

The yearbook signing party is an annual event which began eight years ago when the school switched to an annual yearbook rather than a fall-delivery yearbook. “We switched to an annual yearbook eight years ago because a spring delivery book wasn’t realistic enough to cover anything happening after March 1 and still get the yearbooks printed by graduation,” said Yearbook Adviser Elizabeth Pellicane, who runs the Journalism classes which produce the yearbook.

“The idea behind having a Signing Party is that since students get their yearbooks in the summer or fall, depending on what grade they’re in, they might not have the chance to get their friends to sign their yearbook. The Signing Party is fun way for students to do that, plus get excited about their year almost being done,” said Pellicane. Each student who purchases a book by April 18 gets a free set of signing pages. The pages have a sticky strip which they can then use to attach the pages to their yearbook when it comes in, thereby saving those special memories.

The yearbook is currently $75, but will go up to $78 after April 18, another reason to buy your yearbook before the deadline. You can buy your yearbook in room 4501 or at jostensyearbooks.com.
