Playing soccer since she was four years old, Madison Nazar, or “Madi” as she is known to her friends, is a junior at Fluvanna County High School where she is an active part of the Journalism and SGA (Student Government Association) teams. Nazar said she wanted to be part of the SGA this year because she did SGA in middle school and it was “like, the best year of my life.”

In SGA, Nazar gets to help out her fellow Flucos by planning fun spirit weeks, pep rallies and events. Nazar said she enjoys the uniqueness of being a Fluco, and the small-town aspect of life here in Fluvanna. She also enjoys writing, which is why she joined the Journalism team. “It’s not a set, ‘do this, do that’ sort of class,” she said.

In addition, Nazar holds office in the FCHS Student Council as the Junior Class Secretary. In the winter she does indoor track, where she runs the 4x200m and the 55m dash. “I just like the people and the environment,” said Nazar. Nazar is currently considering joining the Power Team for the second year in a row. “[Power Team] helps improve my fitness and it’s a lot of fun,” said Nazar.
