Football Nov. 4-8

After following a 47-18 loss against Charlottesville, the Flucos’ varsity football team wanted to end their season on a positive note.  They started out strong in their Nov. 8 game against Western Albemarle with touchdown by freshman Mark Grooms. This left the Flucos holding their own with a score of 7-6 in the 1st quarter.  Unfortunately, the game went downhill with there, as the Flucos were only able to make one additional touchdown in the 3rd quarter, this time by freshman Jameel Wilson. Despite a valiant effort by the Fluco defense, the final score of the game was 48-12.

Coach Jason Davis focused on the positive aspects of the team’s performance. “I am super proud of how everyone played together and competed all that way to the final whistle,” he said.  The team ended their season with an overall 1-9 record.
