The Fluvanna Future Farmers of America (FFA) recently announced their officers for the 2026 school year. They include:
- President: Alex Swingle
- Vice President: Bridgette Thomson
- Secretary: Audrey Jones
- Sentinel: Tyler Custer
- Treasurer: Haley Walker
- Reporter: Steven Alessi
Voting took place at the April 29 FFA Banquet in the FCHS Auditorium. FFA Adviser and Agriculture teacher Russell Jennings led the voting by all members of FFA.
To become an FFA elected officer for the new school year, students must be in good standing and perform exceptionally in Jennings’ classes.
Also at the event, members were awarded wooden plaques. Senior Samantha Willis was awarded a metal plaque for being named Outstanding Overall FFA Member. All of the plaques were handmade in Jennings’ classroom.
“This event is crucial for FFA members as it provides bonding opportunities for members, announces important awards, and new year officer positions,” said Jennings.
According to FFA.org, FFA is “the premier youth organization preparing members for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture.”
