The senior trip on May 9 to Six Flags of America in Maryland was the last big event of the 2025 class before graduation, and had only minimal hiccups. Thanks to stormy weather, the trip kicked off with a rocky start, with some expressing concern whether the trip would be worth the $100 per person cost.
The first hour and a half consisted of cold rain and closed rides at the park. Due to anticipated rain, trip leader Mitchell Pace formed a backup plan to spend the day at the mile-long Arundel Mills Mall. Eventually, however, the rides opened, the seats dried, and the rain fully stopped.
Even wet rides didn’t stop seniors from making the most out of what they had. “It was a nice big event to be a part of with the people I’ve grown up with. Though some roller coasters were wet, when the sun came out, everything was exactly how I imagined the trip to be,” said senior Kameren Green.
As the group had gotten to the park at the opening time of noon, and were expecting to leave by 5 p.m., the group decided to leave the park an hour early and go to the mall.
“I enjoyed going to the mall afterwards because it was nice having a meal with friends after walking around and going on rides all day. It was a nice way to finish off my senior year,” said senior Rebecca Martin.
