Decision Day marks the deadline senior students must commit to their chosen college or university, beginning their next chapter in life. This year, 232 FCHS seniors completed the senior exit survey, allowing them to graduate and participate in fun Decision Day activities.
Seniors were released from class early, and went down to the track and soccer fields, where games were set up. SGA made cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cones, and there was a large Decision Day raffle with 11 different prizes ranging from a mini fridge to Tide pods.
Among the many activity options, there were inflatables, bullseye and skee ball games, a giant Jenga and Connect Four game, along with corn hole and a ping pong table. The reusable water balloons and super soakers were another popular activity.
Seniors were encouraged to wear shirts tie-dyed with the colors of their chosen college or university.
“We’ve accumulated so many Decision Day shirts over the years, so I made sure we used those instead of ordering new ones. But that means I don’t know how many we used this year,” said FCHS Counselor Haden Parrish.
Decision Day marked the closing of many seniors’ final year of high school, bringing a little bit of fun before finals and starting on the path of pursuing a career.
“It was really fun getting to hang out with my friends and having fun in the sun. It was such a good day,” said senior Tomas Cruz Vega.
