Electric Entities

The sky is completely devoid of light,

Then a force of nature parts the night.

The dark quickly retreats and recedes,

With astonishing ferocity and speed.

It divides the sky with such eloquence,

And strikes the Earth without penitence.

The jagged luminous veins pierce and break the sky,

Letting the heavens peer down with an electric eye.

Across the atmosphere, reaches those fingers of lurid,

The horizon appearing to have designs of such florid.

Such extravagant and elegant beauty is only ephemeral.

Electric entities dance and wave, remaining forever aerial.

Eventually the ghastly grey clouds will vanish,

For they have other blue skies to vanquish.

Thunder remains audible as the storm fleets,

Sonorous booms embrace like cold heartbeats.

Though the sound is frightful and demanding,

Here you are, resilient and unyielding.

Although it bellows and cracks,

And leaves frightening tracks,

Thunder is nothing to fear.

So sit and enjoy the premier

That the sky has orchestrated

Meticulously and calculated.

Then before you realize it,

The show is over and unlit.

The blue shall return,

And you will discern

The power of nature

Is not strictly danger.
