On April 11, Student Government Association (SGA) students traveled for their field trip to a wellness convention, Great Wolf Lodge, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Students arrived at FCHS at 7:15 a.m., and the bus took off at 7:30 a.m. “It was such a fun and new experience for me and everyone around me. I will never forget all of the new memories and friends I have made along the way,” stated junior Emma Sample.

This year’s SGA spring trip started at William and Mary College where the students attended a wellness convention that involved different hands-on and listening activities. The first station students attended was a rock painting activity where they had to read a paper about wellness attributes and then write the word that most applied to them. “The word I chose is kind because I feel if we spread kindness more often, then the world would be a better and happier place. I hope that my rock inspires others to be kind each and every day,” said junior Sophie Pace.

One of the other activities William and Mary demonstrated was sound therapy where people close their eyes and focus on their breathing and the sounds around them. “The sound bath was super relaxing. I felt like the sound bath really relaxed my body and decreased the stress that I had going into the trip. I feel like everyone should definitely do some type of meditation at least once a week,” said senior Junior Cazares.

After the experience at William and Mary, SGA the team made their way to Great Wolf Lodge where they stayed for the night. While there, students went to the water park and the arcade, and participated in a dance party “My favorite part about Great Wolf Lodge is all the different activities you can do there. There is a lot of work we have to do in SGA, so it’s fun sometimes to just have a good time,” said senior Townes Mullenex.

For the last day of the trip, students went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. At the end of the day, all of the SGA members rode the Loch Ness Monster together and made many new memories and friends that will be vibrant for a lifetime. Junior Natalie Gomez states her favorite ride was, “The Alpengeist, because it was so fun and the best experience overall.”
